CONSULTING & RESEARCH SERVICES

Consulting & Research Services

Broadway Ventures delivers consulting and research services focused on environmental science, infrastructure engineering, and applied research for federal customers. Our work includes prime contract research and development (R&D) for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center (USACE ERDC), with specific capabilities in soil science, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) remediation, water system resiliency, and hazardous waste compliance.

Environmental Consulting

Broadway Ventures provides environmental consulting to federal facilities and government customers, with specific capabilities in water system resiliency, PFAS remediation research, and hazardous waste compliance.

Services include:

  • Water Resiliency and Distribution Modeling: Hydraulic modeling and water system resiliency assessments using KY Pipe, and coordination with the Mississippi Department of Health (MDH), Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), and the Mississippi Public Service Commission. Completed projects include the ERDC Vicksburg campus water distribution modeling and resiliency assessment covering more than 125 facilities.
  • PFAS Remediation Research: Investigation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) destruction pathways using iron based catalysis, reductive dehalogenation, thermal desorption, and mineralization. Development of PFAS transport, transformation, and fate models supporting NDAA Section 343 compliance on Army ranges and test sites.
  • Hazardous Waste and Spill Prevention Compliance: Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) contingency planning, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plan development, Satellite Accumulation Area (SAA) and Central Accumulation Area (CAA) assessments, Universal Waste planning, and compliance training aligned with EPA, DoD, and USACE EM 385-1-1 requirements.

Research and Development (R&D)

Broadway Ventures holds a prime Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract (NAICS 541715) with the USACE ERDC Environmental Laboratory supporting research in soil science, sustainability, and environmental remediation.

Services include:

  • Soil Carbon Sequestration and Biogeochemistry: Research on in situ carbon stabilization using soil-microbe interactions, engineered amendments including biochar, gypsum, and compost, longitudinal monitoring of labile and recalcitrant soil carbon fractions, and applied work on Microbially Induced Calcite Precipitation (MICP) and Extracellular Polymeric Substances (EPS) for soil stabilization.
  • Biosynthesized Soil Amendments: Development of microbially induced biopolymers for soil reinforcement, mechanical testing for strength, permeability, and erosion resistance, and cost benefit analysis of biosynthesized amendments against conventional lime and cement based alternatives.
  • PFAS Destruction Pathways: Bench scale experimentation and field pilot planning for PFAS degradation and environmental remediation, including analytical chemistry support using liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and ion chromatography.
  • Compliance and Data Handling: Full compliance with DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST SP 800-171, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements, Operations Security (OPSEC) awareness, Antiterrorism Level I, and DoD 8570.01-M cybersecurity training standards.
