Who We Are

Broadway is an 8a Disadvantaged, Service-Disabled-Veteran, and HUBZone Small Business Certified.

We are currently successfully performing on contracts with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), US Department of State, and US Department of Veterans Affairs. As a provider of commercial and government administrative and IT services, we know contract awards are more than binding agreements. They are a link to millions of Americans with high expectations.

We are also the majority member for the following joint ventures: Fed Pro Services, Vetshare Services, and BW4 Technologies.

Our History

Broadway Insurance Services started in a one room office in the old post office on the historical Square of Canton, MS. Initially, the owner, Lee E. Penton parlayed his vast insurance service knowledge and skills into an insurance brokerage service line.  Broadway’s first two insurance policies were issued in 2015 to Peterbilt of Louisiana and International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Peru Aviation.

Being a disabled veteran serving in both the Navy and Marine Corps, has afforded Penton’s business the designation of Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOB).  Broadway has also obtained certification in the SBA 8 (a) Business Development Program and is in a Mentor Protégé arrangement with Palmetto GBA.  Subsequently Broadway and Palmetto GBA formed a Joint Venture known as Fed Pro Services.

Fed Pro was awarded its first contract in July 2018 with the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). The contract assisted Medicare Beneficiaries with non-affirmed transportation prior authorizations in securing transportation for Repetitive, Scheduled Non-Emergent Ambulance Transportation (RSANT). At that point, Broadway grew from a one-person operation to an organization of five staff.  In the Fall of 2019, CMS awarded Fed Pro the End-Stage Renal Disease Quality Improvement Data Validation and Review contract.

At that point Penton realized the company portfolio of services was reaching well beyond insurance services and in 2017 re-branded the company as Broadway Ventures, LLC.

Broadway Ventures continued to grow its portfolio of services. Between December 2018 and October 2019 Broadway was awarded two contracts to augment the Railroad Medicare and Home Health Medicare claims review programs with Register Nurse claims reviewers. Simultaneously in July 2019, Broadway partnered with Plan4 Healthcare to form the joint venture BW4 Technologies. Broadway, as a subcontractor for Plan4 Healthcare, has provided the Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 7 expertise in strategic, operational, and financial management in the healthcare setting along with training and implementation of associate software to facilitate these processes.

In a period of less than five years Broadway Ventures has grown from a small insurance brokerage company into a deep-rooted service contractor of over 25 employees that provides a portfolio of services to include Help Desk and Call Center services, Medical Claims Review expertise, healthcare operational management consulting, staffing augmentation, and insurance services.
